The evidence that was being presented that it was about the Anti-Muslim Prejudice was playing a role at different parts in Adnan’s case, from jury selection, when one of the juror were talking about that he couldn’t be fair to a Muslim that was being accused just because a Muslim friend of his would hurt his own wife, to a pledge hearing when a prosecutor keeps on referring to Adnan as a Pakistani (instead of American) and it can form to a pattern of cases where Pakistani’s will kill women and then they would go back to their own home country, which is very depressing. Alternatively, when another person, with no clear intention of lying, there are hard accusations that the ex-boyfriend of the cause of the murder, of course he will be a suspect, because it makes them a person of enjoyment. According to Conor Friedersdorf, “whether or not Adnan is guilty, it’s difficult to come away from this deep dive into his case without concluding that he would’ve gotten a fairer trial”(Serial Episode 10: The Best Defense is a good Defense). The evidence illustrates that the reason Adnan Syed was convicted was not based on evidence because there is no evidence here to convict him there is only suspicion. The evidence that is provided like a partial palm print is irrelevant because it was found in Hae’s car, the same car in which she and Adnan hung out in and she gave him rides. And then there are the cell phone records which would now a days be held as inadmissible in court, they are inadmissible for a reason and that reason being is that they don’t prove…

In the story, one concept that parallels the theme was the good and evil that coexists amongst humans. During Tom Robinson’s trial, Jem and Scout both see the court case and witness Tom’s wrongful conviction of rape. Tom Robinson was a good-hearted and innocent man, but the evil prejudice and hatred inside of Bob Ewell makes Tom become wrongfully convicted. This leads to Tom’s panicking and he later attempts to escape from authorities and he gets shot and killed. In a similar way, Boo Radley, despite what the local rumors say, is a good person that did not want to cause harm.…

Thoughts are up in the air when it comes to the truthfulness of Jays testimony, especially when he is involved, but gets off scotch free due to his allegations against Adnan. Although he was able to bargain a plea deal, he ran the risk of putting himself behind bars in order to let what he believes to be the truth out in the open. The choice of doing a narrative analysis on Jay Wilde was to see through his eyes the day leading up to the murder and the murder itself. Why do critics continue to give off the impression Jay Wild is lying and what has Jay’s role willing be throughout Adnan’s…

The second reason I think Adnan must be innocent is because there are too many inconsistencies that Jay provides during his testimony while being interviewed by the police. Jay provides many stories, which sometimes do not match up to Adnan’s story or to the stories he provides. There were many inconsistencies that did not make sense, of which I will share the 3 that I found most important, which you can find in episode 4 called “Inconsistencies". The…

Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype. It is also bad for his case when there are phone records and accounts of him acting strange on the day of her murder. Jay seems to be the only one that has a story that is sound enough to have Adnan as the main suspect.…

As you can see, Jay is not a reliable resource and should not be trusted considering his illegal activities. In brief, Adnan Syed is not guilty because he has an alibi, no motivation for the murder, and the witnesses of the murder are not reliable. Many people have tried to prove Adnan guilty or innocent, but overall there is more proof of him being innocent than there is guilty.
