February 28th 1999, the life Adnan Syed once lived, would soon quickly fall apart. The 17 year old amiable, intelligent, athletic honors student that everyone loved was now behind bars, for a dreadful crime that he has been accused of committing. This atrocity being the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Hae was South Korean and also attended the same high school as Adnan which was Woodlawn High School, where she played lacrosse and field hockey. Her and Adnan had broken up. They both began seeing other people. Just a few weeks after the break up Hae had gone missing on January 13th, 1999. Adnan loved her, he dated her, he was dumped, and then he killed her? That’s what everyone one thought, the problem here is he didn’t do it. Adnan Syed has been wrongfully convicted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae and has spent half of his life in prison. There is no physical evidence that Adnan committed the murder, just assumptions and theories that led to his imprisonment. Jay, Adnan’s best friends boyfriend, tells the cops that Adnan had let him know that he was going to kill Hae. He also states that Adnan gives him his car and cellphone but who does this with someone you don't really know. There is no true evidence here. Jay even lets the cops know he helped bury Hae’s body. …show more content…
