Starting here I would like to say that I am ready to attend your school. The reasons for my failure to meet admission requirements stem from my past educational venture. I have developed much strength as a learner from my training and experience in the Air Force and have goals for myself and career. The Air Force has provided me with a great support group and the study skills to succeed in the classroom and in life. This is not my first attempt at a degree. I encountered many setbacks and difficulties in this endeavor. My biggest obstacle in successful course completion was attending class. This was a huge mistake and waste of time and resources. The reasoning on why I didn’t attend class stems to immaturity. This was the first time on my own and I have matured greatly since then. Since joining the Air Force I have gained valuable life skills that will allow success in future endeavors. I have let go of my childish ways and am fully committed to complete my courses this time around. Goals are very important in life. In …show more content…
I view myself as a visual learner and I think that will go well with the online program you have to offer. Another strength I have is that I am hungry for information. This hunger for knowledge is another reason I want to further my education. As far as challenges time management is something I struggle with. Finding time for work, fitness, and school will be hard, but I am ready to combat this with daily schedules and then working into a routine where I can get my work done first and focus on other things afterwards. In this routine I plan to study for one and a half hours after work and spend the remaining time doing assignments for the remaining time until bed. I will also dedicate my days off to finishing assignments and studying. I plan on taking full advantage of time and resources by studying not only at home but as well work and the city

Thank you for considering The University of North Florida as your home for the next four years. The admissions team is very displeased to inform you that there will not be room here for you at our college. After reviewing your essay and application we were all very entertained but doubtful we would ever be able to meet you. My favorite part of your application had to be when you explained why you didn’t do very well in your Spanish three class, “I got a C- in Spanish because yo no hablo espanol.” All of us who read your application got a kick out of that.…

Not many people in this country would sign up for a job where you can get killed any given day, where you can be shipped to any given place in the world at any time, or where they are forced to create a will at the age of 18 or 19. Many young men across this country sign up for a minimum of a 4 year contract to join the United States military. In my opinion they are the bravest people in the country and rightfully so. They have to leave their loved ones to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic. I had the pleasure of interviewing three of my friends who are serving or who have served before, and we will take a look through their eyes.…

I was unfamiliar with the process of choosing the order of courses that would transition me to graduation. As a result, I took several non-required courses, and I even took some of the needed courses, for my degree, out of order. Needless to say, I hit an academic wall that lasted five long semesters. It would have been easier for me to change majors for the sake of graduation, but being in such a predicament only sharpened my perseverance and molded my determination. While these academic complications seemed unbearable at the time, my senior year turned out to be my most challenging year.…

Not everyone who attends college are successful at completing the courses needed to graduate. For many reasons, college students are forced to drop out willingly, are withdrawn by administration, or simply lose interest in furthering their education. However, the college students who complete college successfully and make it to graduation share some habits that make the odds of being successful work in their favor. Many college students succeed because they make it a priority to attend and involve themselves in class sessions regularly, take control of their education, and nurture relationships with the instructors on their school campus. One of the most important causes of being a successful college student is actually attending class sessions regularly.…

As a child of immigrant parents, whom never passed secondary education, I had been told several times by my mother, “I came here so you can have the opportunities I never had.” I never took her words in for consideration. Being callow was part of the predicament, and my early teenage mindset kept me in captivity. Unlike my mother, I’ve been oblivious to the fact that as a citizen, I’m capable of achieving anything. During my last two years of high school, I realized that she was utterly right.…

The basic facts that I have given in my general application are only the facts that have been written down and kept record of. They don’t tell you who I am as a person, nor do they tell you if I would be a good candidate for your school. Hopefully, in this personal testimony of mine, I would like to explain some of the reasons why you should consider me as a student that is right for your school. I would first like to start off saying that your school is at the top of my list, as well as many others. I know that I am a perfect candidate for FIT as I have learned many great things in high school and at the community college I attend that will benefit me on my journey as I go to transfer to a four year University of my choice.…
