Because of my love for the state of Idaho, my personal values, and my desire to obtain an education without going into debt, I will be attending Brigham Young University- Idaho in the fall. This institution is situated in a beautiful place in Idaho; central to skiing, climbing, and hiking which is the best, most hands-on way to experience the state. When I envision my life, I see it being rooted in Idaho. Though I may live somewhere else for a few years or travel, I cannot imagine what life would be like in a place where tourism does not involve potatoes and white water rapids. I want to contribute to this state, just like all of the fabulous people I know who have helped me grow into someone I can be proud of. It is wonderful to me that I …show more content…
Obtaining a degree is very important to me, and I look forward to working hard to get it. I plan to major in nursing. This challenging degree will push me, but not beyond my capabilities. If going to school in Emmett has taught me only one thing, it is to believe in my potential, and please understand that teachers taught a lot more than just that. In this school district we learn everything from addition to writing, and they throw in a fair dose of lessons regarding character traits and lifelong skills. I am confident in taking my next step because of the influence of the great people around me who have prepared me for my own responsibilities. Through high school I have balanced multiple leadership positions, membership in service organizations, planned and executed two blood drives for the American Red Cross as well as volunteered in four additional drives, and I have filled my schedule with advanced classes. So while this degree is very demanding I have already learned how to manage my time and I know that I will be able to exceed what is required of
