Administering Justice through Community Partnership
I have developed an interest in caring for the needs of others while working in the healthcare field, volunteering, and while promoting public relations throughout my community. I have been afforded the opportunity to care for the sick and elderly as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 7 years. I have been a volunteer for Richland County, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice for 10 months. Throughout my tenure as a Guardian ad litem and a Volunteer Probation Officer I have worked with juvenile clients and their families in order to deter criminal behaviors through education and counselling. While attending ASU, I completed two professional internships with Birmingham Police Department (3 months) and The City of Auburn Police Department (5 months). I’m currently a full time student and candidate for a Masters of Justice Administration degree from Faulkner University, with a GPA of 3.333. I believe my diverse education, work and volunteer experience in the healthcare and criminal justice fields have allowed me to understand and care for the needs of others.I would like to further my education and experience in the field of Criminal Justice but I believe in doing so I must understand the Administration …show more content…
I will acknowledge the importance of responding to organizational needs so that my team can achieve all goals and objectives at hand. In order to perform any job well you must understand the job’s duties and the organization’s needs. Community engagement allows members of Law Enforcement to interact with citizens and concern themselves with their needs and wellbeing. Although, effective communication can be learned at any level of leadership it is most important to listen to the needs of the people you serve.
