Are you aware that there are numerous things happening in 2013? Some of them include the popularization of urban street art, the LGBTQ+ liberation movement, global warming becomes a worldwide epidemic, and countless others. Adidas Sportswear Company is able to take advantage of this situation well. They create advertisements addressing the problems or supporting the trend which draws more of the public’s attention to their products. Their method of advertising differs from time to time depending on the current trend. Adidas has used many topics as the theme of their advertisements such as the Genesis space mission and the Boston marathon. Not only Adidas, this goes the same way with other companies that are trying to advertise their products. …show more content…
During this time, global warming has become a worldwide epidemic which devastates people from all over the globe. Over time, people are getting more aware of its cause and effect which enlighten to the idea of taking action. Due to this circumstance, Adidas Company took advantage by creating a street advertisement which addresses the problem. This is a relatively simple style of advertising. Nevertheless, the message they are trying to convey is clear. They use leaves and other natural materials for creating the shape of an Adidas shoe. The company’s trademark can also be seen in the center which builds an image that their company is concerned about the environment’s well being and that they are worth being role models. The technique of advertising that is being used here is called ‘transfer’. It is an idea with a positive connotation used to show that such qualities are associated with the product. They want to put their products in the market as well as promoting green life lifestyle to the younger generation or people who are friends with the environment in general. At this period of time, Adidas takes inspiration from various outer space missions to use as the theme of their printed advertisement with the purpose of selling their sportswear products. The company is apparently interested in the Apollo II mission which took place in 1969. It was the first time a spacecraft landed on the moon with humans in it. Several decades later, in September 3rd, 2004, Genesis returned from collecting samples beyond the moon’s orbit and it was also the first to do that. Hence, Adidas Company created an advertisement which promotes bravery and boldness. This advertisement is intended to target young and adventurous people. The technique that they make use of is motivational tagline which implies that the user has the same qualities. The advertisement is in a form of poster which contains the company’s logo and the image of an astronaut in the outer space. The creator also uses the slogan “Nothing is impossible” to complete its content. The only colors used are black, grey and white which aren’t overly dramatic.
