In her Ted Talk, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, indicates that single stories often paint a false reality of the world. A false reality could be a country, a person, a religion or anything that can be known or encountered. Adichie clarifies how single stories are expressed through several positions, perspectives, and point of views. Books, news stories, and films are the most common places where single stories are voiced. Adichie wants us to realize that when we do not have knowledge first-hand, single stories can limit our understanding about individuals, religions, countries, and cultures.
