Introduction
I. Attention: I am a squirrel running around looking for an almond, and hiding my acorns in places I can’t find. Inattention problem? Actually, I have a broken reward pathway and ADHD medications are a benefit to people like me.
II. Thesis: Attention deficit disorder is a real disease, undeniably proven with scientific research. Yet many are skeptical of medications used to treat ADHD. Some people still believe ADHD medication, is a crutch for a lack of will power. ADHD medication truly benefits those who are affected by ADHD.

Distracted by any and every little noise imaginable noise.
2. These symptoms lead to feeling anxious and frustrated but are reduced to a level where I can function relatively normal when I take my medication. I. I can let go of all the little distractions such as someone sniffling in class or constantly clicking their pen. II. I can sit down and work on a task without getting up to get something that I have no need for in that moment. These are just two examples which affect my ability to tune out distractions which most people are able to work through. V. Heart rate, dehydration and loss of appetite are a small price to pay for the relief I feel when taking medication.
C. Lastly, ADHD medication does not give me extra will power.
I. People assume that I don’t try hard enough and medication shouldn’t be given to fix that? I tried every single day until I was 27, and was never able to try hard enough. Today I put in just as much effort as I did 2 years ago, when I was diagnosed
