Adelphi 6 has agreed upon a few assumptions to aid us in framing, and appropriately limiting, our research and this presentation to make it most effective. First, given that Ghana has been selected as the ideal country to start our global expansion, it is our assumption that the company, Adelphi 6, has some generic knowledge of the intricacies of doing business there. This is due to the fact that it takes a great deal of time and resources to further determine the feasibility. Additionally, it is assumed that doing business in the United States and Ghana is feasible from a legal perspective. Second, although many African dialects are spoken, Ghana’s official language is English. Therefore, it is the assumption that all Ghanaian employees involved in this expansion will be fluent in English. Third, as previously stated, it is the hope that the …show more content…
First, it was important to have a formal group discussion to formulate a team plan. This helped ensure that we were all in agreement on task assignments and completion dates. Second, we needed to assign a team lead so that there is a primary point of contact for questions or concerns. Further research has indicated that partnering with the consulting firm PricewaterhouseCooper, who is familiar with the Ghanaian culture and business practices, would potentially be beneficial (PWC, 2014, p. 13). They could assist us in fully integrating our businesses processes by assigning project managers to work directly with both our team and the company in Ghana. With this in mind, it was very important to ensure that the consulting company had a physical location in Ghana. Reading books about the Ghanaian culture, although helpful, does not surmount to the benefit of utilizing first – hand experience.
