Adelaine

Since visiting the coast of British Columbia a few summers ago, Adelaine had fallen in love with its beauty and magnitude. In a small town north of Vancouver, BC a fascinating story is being written. In her short time there, she was told numerous, eerily similar stories about running shoes washing up on the beach. Since 2007 at least 16 running shoes have been found. This phenomenon has brought many tourists who want to hunt around the beach. However, these scavengers found a lot more than they thought they would when they began finding something attached to these shoes: severed feet. The strange part about this was not the human remains, but what they all had in common. Most of the shoes found were all right shoes. What started as a mystery …show more content…
Because of the very limited answers, the police had released, the two girls had little to go off of. Their first idea was to interview some of the original discoverers, but that ended up failing when they realized most had moved to another town. Instead, they decided to take a trip to a beach where the most recent shoe had been found. When they arrived at the spot it looked like any other beach; nothing special about it. Not expecting too much of the day the two girls spent the remainder of the day exploring the beach, walking along the water, climbing rocks, and taking in the beauty around them. As they were walking back they both saw something that they thought might resemble a running shoe. Without even thinking they both started to walk towards the mysterious object. As they approached the scene they confirmed it was a shoe. At this point, both girls knew what they were looking at; the remains of a human foot. Fitting into the theme of the other shoes, they had discovered yet another right shoe.
Over the years many theories surfaced about their origins. Many believe this to be the work of a serial killer that may still be out there. There’s also theories that say the remains could be from natural disasters or plane crashes. Police have done an extensive investigation and have called into question two different potential suspects, but have had no luck explaining this occurrence.
