An addiction is a very substantial burden that an individual should never have to deal on their own. They should have all types of support from family, friends and doctors who will help guide them into the right direction as hard as the road to recovery is never an easy path. When it comes to pain management instead of a prescription medication, a more natural alternative medicine should be used first so prescription medications are a last resort. As heroin and some prescription medications have similar ingredients, when the pills are no longer around heroin to them is the next best thing as its stronger then prescriptions. To repeat, while making Propoxyphene and OxyContin a plastic-encased abuse deterrent form of the pills, prescription opioid overdoses dropped by 20 percent; but at that same time, heroin use raised by 23 percent.
