The fellowship can be a service to those with addiction challenges because from what i have observed these addiction meetings is an open safe environment where no one will be judged. My role as a student attending an open meeting is to mostly be the observer in the process of the meeting because if I was to be more outspoken and hare my opinion throughout the meeting like other individuals did that would led to question asking and when it comes to question asking, and knowing me as a person it wouldn’t be my place to be outspoken in environment I don’t know nothing about. I cant come into a situation as student just knowing what i know from my practice but not actually understanding it in the real world. My own personal and cultural history impacted the type of fellowship I attended because in my culture my family is very religious and supportive. As a Christian its important to believe that you can accomplish and achieve all things through God that strengthens you, so understanding this throughout my history really made a difference for me. Also, the support that each individual gave to each other really made me feel like they were a family in a way something that my family does on a day to day basis which is helping me to succeeded in life. With support and cultural beliefs it allows anyone to feel that their is no need to fear and you can feel comfortable to be yourself no matter your social location in society just to be open to being yourself. The experience was a good for me to observe, and understand the different ways people go through their addict and for the ones that have families I might be quite a hard situation for them to understand but once you hear it from many individuals on their challenges on addict it makes it more easier for an addicts family to believe and accept
