I was speechless when I found out that the agency wanted to stop visits between RM and Adam. I remember at the goal change conference that the agency supervisor beliefs were different from now what he was telling the attorney to communicate to the court.

I found it interesting that the RM did not challenge the agency in the courtroom. I was able to see two sides of the RM. The RM who wants power and control versus a RM who wants to do anything just to maintain a relationship with her son. At least that is what I perceived in the court room.

How is it okay for Adam’s sister to potentially be failing and the only intervention is 9 months of supervision. There

Characterisation and language features concerning the values of retributive justice, power, and integrity are used by Saville in Felony (2014) to comment on the idea of telling truths and issues of self-reproach and social justice. Carl and Julie’s differing truths on guilt and punishment, as articulated through their depiction and verbal expression, are placed in opposition to the value of retributive justice by Saville. The characterisation of Ankhila as marginalised and her dialogue with Jim informs a cultural discourse on the value of power, which Saville uses to highlight the issue of social justice. Through having Malcolm confess the truth, Saville shows that remorse triumphs over fear in influencing the protagonist’s unforceful value…

Juror number three to me was very irrational with his thought process of convicting the boy of his guiltiness. I felt as though he thought the problems he had with his son were the same that this father and son had. Nonetheless this is not the case. The way he described he and his son’s relationship, made me believe that he was pushing his son into being someone that he wasn’t. The juror not only wanted his son to live in the same mindset as him, but he wanted his son to be him.…

In ¨Talking to Boys the Way We Talk to Girls¨ Andrew Reiner describes how the way parents treat and talk to their children based on gender affects the way men and women embrace their emotions in the future. Reiner claims that men are inherently forced to suppress their emotions starting at a young age, while women are more in touch with their emotions because parents were more accepting of girls expressing their feelings. Between physical affection and verbal affection, boys do not receive the same amount or type as girls do. This permanently affects the way that each gender interprets how expressing emotion is socially acceptable. Reiner uses examples of real life situations and proof from research to educate the audience of the root of this problem.…

Besides being a gripping, triumphant story told in a unique way 12 Angry Men is in many ways a tale of a Devil’s Advocate and how his leadership allows the jury of which he is a member to open themselves to new information, perspectives, and possibilities. Juror 8 is subtly implied to be the “good guy” by his dress; the only pure white suit among a dozen modes of dress, and initial script blocking; going straight to the window, the only initial source of light in the room and almost wistfully gazing out at the sky to the point of distraction. From the outset, he is portrayed almost as an Angel’s Advocate among devils. He then proceeds to voice the only dissenting opinion and to explore it rigorously enough to allow all the other jurors to…
