Reflection Paper #2 (Adams Place) When I found out Adams place were coming to speak I thought they was just going to talk about long-term care just like every other nursing home. The most shocking was to learn that they offer other health services as well like independent living, assisted living, and rehab. Both of the speakers provided some good information about being Health Administrator in the nursing home settings. Also, describing their policy on what the Health Administrators have to go through for their facility. It was interesting for them to require them to go through every job category before even being over a building. Another thing I did not know was that they start learning under another Health Administrator for a year then the next year they go right into being over their own building at Adams Place. …show more content…
The politics in healthcare is getting more concerning each year for insurance Medicaid and Medicare. One of them mentioned in some of the services like independent living they do not accept Medicare from their residents. At first, when they said that I was like so they turn the patients away when their insurance is Medicare. Until they continued on to say they will refer the patients to other nursing home facilities if that was their case. Out of all the services they mentioned the most interesting was that they offer rehab services for the senior community. I like how the patients can come straight from the hospital to their rehab building like any other rehab place. One thing I think would be a good idea is trying to have younger patients as well as older. This would just expand their business even more and open up more opportunities for more money to come in. I still think it is just amazing how they even have the component of rehab to their
