An Essay On The Role Of Education In The Other Wes Moore

Sometimes an education isn’t for everyone. But to be successful, most of the time you need a higher education. In the book “The Other Wes Moore” by Wes Moore, Moore writes about two Wes Moore’s that have a different fate. The author Wes Moore finished his education career and the other Wes Moore dropped out and had his fate turnaround for the worst. Education is a highly important piece of being successful in life. People drop out of high school because they think that education is stupid or that they have something else better to do then to go to school. The other Wes Moore was unable to graduate from high school because he chose to drop out. Due to dropping out of school, the other Wes Moore into some trouble with drugs and ended his fate by committing a crime. I feel as though the other Wes Moore chose his fate because he knew that his consequences would turn out to be bad when he did them. Moore was sent off to the military academy and the other Wes Moore stayed and huge out with the same crowd. Resulting in Moore being successful and Wes in prison for killing someone. Seeing my cousin get sent away and seeing my old classmate getting arrested and locked away in prison really goes to show how important education is in being successful.
Being successful comes with higher education. I believe that the school system definitely plays a huge role with the drop out rates soaring on the high side. I also believe that teachers and parents also play a major part by not fighting hard enough to keep kids in school to get an education. I feel like if we made schooling more rewarding or interesting then kids would more likely be interested instead of wanting to drop out of school and get all caught up in drugs and
