Adam Houge makes some risky statements that are bold and contentious. As that may be those statements beautiful brought together the points of his work.
In this text, author Adam Houge continuously lets his reader know that they are not perfect. That man is not perfect, that the only one is perfect is Christ and God themselves. He lets his hearers know that they are sinners and that God wants the best for them. Houge humbles his readers,but also lets them know how much they are loved.
Yet, Houge mentions that God with always give his people more that they can bear, which is a false statement. God sometimes give his people more than they can bear, because it will challenge them and make their faith stronger. Or either let one know that whatever they are struggling can be shared with Christ. And that Christ can also help one carry that heavy burden and enhance that relationship.
