Adam Hall its a new lawyer from kravitz and bane he want to start with a death penalty case and Goodman told him to start with the case of Sam Cayhall a men that have passed with a lot of different lawyers all of them fail Sam was the grandfather of Adam. Adam goes to live with Lee his uncle in Memphis because he is closer to the prison Lee told some stories from Cayhall's past making Adam knew more from his family Adam past from different person trying to get clues from the Kramer’s bombing and he doesn’t give up until the last moment Adam think that in a bombing Sam had a helper because Sam doesn’t knew nothing from timers but Sam doesn’t want to talk but if Sam told Adam the name of his helper he wouldn’t die in the gas chamber at the end
