The Australian constitution was written more than 100 years ago, in which aboriginal people had been around for 40,000 years…the oldest culture in the planet. Since Goode’s Australian of the year speech, where he mentioned ‘recognize’ and its motives, members of the organization soared to over 250,000 (increase of 100,000). His ‘actions’ and ‘interactions’ have influenced many Australians to support the foundation, which will in turn potentially see the constitution altered to recognize ATSI’s over Australia. Two sections of the constitution do not recognize Aboriginals and still discriminate against their culture, rights and freedom. Section 25 states that federal governments can disqualify people from voting based on their race, with section 51 stating that governments can make specific laws for pupils based on their race. In Goodes last speech as Australian of the year, he stood up as a true leader of our country, and addressed these racial constitution issues. He said “I ask every Australian to think about what the constitution exclusion says to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. The heartbreak of this constitution exclusion is that it denies the true span of our country 's history.” He also stated that this would be an “uplifting achievement for
