Today, I will be telling you how Ada Lovelace was important in the world of math and also why she is so important today. Ada Lovelace was born in London, United Kingdom on December 10, 1815. She was the daughter of Lord Byron and Anne Isabella Byron. Ada’s father had abandoned his wife and daughter when Ada was one month old leaving britain forever,he passed away in Greece at the age of thirty-six when Ada was only eight years old, so that means she didn’t have her father throughout her whole life. Ada had showed her gift for mathematics at a very early age she also, showed a talent for language. Ada married William King in 1835 at the age of 19, which became Earl of Lovelace they had three children , Byron King-Noel, Anne Blunt, Ralph King-Milbanke. …show more content…
Ada also accomplished mathematician, which it was very rare for women in the era back then that she lived in. Ada was important in the World of Math because she excelled in math and also had a lifelong interest in numbers and number theory..In 1833, Ada met the brilliant mathematician named Charles Babbage who she became lifelong friends with, Ada was overly intrigued with his idea about a “Analytical Engine” it was a mechanical calculating machine that it’s design predated the digital computer by over 100 years. In 1842, mathematician Louis Menebrea published a memoir explaining the “Analytical Engine” which it would be translated from French to English by Ada for Babbage., In Ada’s notes she had described how the codes could be created so the device could handle the letters also the symbols with numbers ,she also theorized a method so the engine repeats a series of the instructions as process called looping that computer programs use today. For her own work , she is considered the “Mother of Computer Programming” also the “Enchantress of Numbers”, the nickname “Enchantress of Numbers” was given to Ada by Charles Babbage although she considered herself a “metaphysician” also her mother gave a nickname it was the “Princess of Parallelograms” .’The industrial revolution was going on in the world during the 1800s
