Acute Inpatient Environment

In my personal and professional experience, the acute inpatient environment may at times appear to lack any positive direction for the mental health nurses working directly with patient care however, if you were to delve beyond this superficial appearance I would also argue that the role of the mental health nurse is, as suggested by Horsfall, Cleary, & Hunt (2010) and Bowers (2005) often established by the patients, their needs and the reason for their admission to an acute mental health inpatient facility.
Mental Health nurses are often seen to be adjusting their day-to-day practice to assist their patients wether this is by providing reassurance and/ or management of their patients emotional needs, challenging (stimulating or opposing)
