It is the most common type of anal abscess. During an infection, the immune system of the body responds by yielding dead white blood cells or pus at the inflamed area. It is excreted in the form of a whitish-yellow, yellow or yellow-brown liquid which is rich in protein. In the event that the inflamed area is near the anus, the accumulation of pus is called anal abscess. Perianal abscess, on the other hand, appears as a red, boil-like swell in the anal area. Aside from anal fissure, other sources of this ailment are sexually transmitted infections and blocked anal glands. Perianal abscess should undergo drainage through surgery sooner than its eruption. If the abscess is large or deeper, hospitalization will be required. Pain relievers are needed after the operation.
