Like other sore conditions, acute anal fissure may cause complications when left untreated. Some may argue that living with an uncured condition is less excruciating than subjecting one’s self to treatment. Nevertheless, the risks of leaving the injury untreated is not worth it.
Non-treatment can firstly lead to chronic cases wherein the damage persists, seeming to resist treatment. Recurring constipation complicates the case.

It is the most common type of anal abscess. During an infection, the immune system of the body responds by yielding dead white blood cells or pus at the inflamed area. It is excreted in the form of a whitish-yellow, yellow or yellow-brown liquid which is rich in protein. In the event that the inflamed area is near the anus, the accumulation of pus is called anal abscess. Perianal abscess, on the other hand, appears as a red, boil-like swell in the anal area. Aside from anal fissure, other sources of this ailment are sexually transmitted infections and blocked anal glands. Perianal abscess should undergo drainage through surgery sooner than its eruption. If the abscess is large or deeper, hospitalization will be required. Pain relievers are needed after the operation. Antibiotics, on the contrary, are just needed if the patient is suffering from either diabetes or decreased immunity. Relapse will not be an issue for treatments done

Pelvic organ prolapse occurs in women when pelvic organs (e.g. the vagina, urinary bladder, rectum, or uterus) protrude into or outside of the vagina. The causes of POP are not unlike those that also contribute to UI. These include inappropriate (asymmetrical, excessive, insufficient) muscle tone and asymmetries caused by trauma to the pelvis. Age, pregnancy, family history, and hormonal status all contribute to the development of POP.…

is based on the location of its tract in relation to anal sphincter muscle: intersphincteric, transsphincteric, suprasphincteric, or extrasphincteric.[2] Idiopathic fistula-in-ano most commonly occurs in healthy subjects, with cryptoglandular infection being the most widely accepted etiologic factor. The anal crypt gland penetrates the anal sphincter to varying degrees. Once obstructed, infection will ensue and suppuration will follow the least resistant path, which accordingly determines the location of the abscess (perianal, ischiorectal, inter-sphincteric) and the type of fistula [3]. Other common causes of anal fistula include chronic ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, tuberculosis, carcinoma of the rectum or anal canal, benign rectal strictures, foreign bodies or diverticulitis. Preoperative assessment and planning is very important.…
