This experiment was conducted through questionnaires given to male and female high school students asking them to rate the following concepts: parents religious behavior, emotional relationships within family, and self-actualization. In our textbook self-actualization is defined by Abraham Maslow as psychological health, and defined by Carl Rogers as “the tendency to actualize the self as perceived in awareness” (J. Feist, G. For the most part, the results of this experiment supported the researcher 's hypothesis. They found that there was a positive correlation between parents religious behavior and emotional relationships within family, meaning that the students reporting that their parents displayed appropriate religious behavior also reported having a healthy emotional relationship with their family. This is aligned with my thoughts on the subject, because having similar religious views as your parents or other family members creates a connection that surpasses the physical connection of being blood relatives. Likewise, the students that reported a healthy emotional relationship also reported a higher level of self-actualization. I assumed this would be the case because I have experienced this in my own life, having supportive emotional relationships is vitally important for healthy psychological functioning because it gives you a sense of security and safety. The only relationship that did not reveal a positive correlation was the relationship between parents religious behavior and reported level of self-actualization/psychological-health, which did not reveal any significant correlation positive or negative (Poorsheikhali & Alavi,
