1. Introduction:
Skateboarding is an action sport involving tricks using a skateboard. Skateboarding became popular in the 1950's throughout California. The idea of skateboarding was born when surfers got creative and wanted to "surf on the streets." Skateboarding is a very popular sport, but it carries many stereotypes and stigmas. Many people believe that the world of skateboarding is full of drugs and vandalism, but it is simply a recreational activity. Your quadriceps are a group of four muscles in the front of your thighs. Skating tricks involve flexing the hip joints, which is one of the jobs of the quadriceps. Quadriceps help with extending the knee as well. To exercise your quadriceps, you could do squats or lunges. Stronger quads would make the tasks performed by the quads easier, like flexing the hip joint. The hamstrings are also very involved in skateboarding. The hamstrings allow you to flex your knee. This allows you to be in a lower position, which can help you have a lower center of gravity while skating. The flexing of the knee is also important in pushing with one of your legs while trying to move or gain speed. To exercise your hamstrings, you could do good mornings. Good mornings strengthen your hamstrings by using the hamstrings as you bend with the weighted bar. This will help when the hamstrings are needed to help push in skating. The gluteus Maximus is the last primary muscle involved. The gluteus Maximus allows you to maintain balance when going from a lower position to an upright position. This helps when skaters are trying to push forward and push their hips while trying to gain speed on a flat surface. Squats help strengthen the gluteus Maximus, which allows you to have a stronger muscle when it is needed to help maintain balance on the
