An example of that is when she talks to the employees and tells them that the day before a customer receive a plate that did not reflect the restaurant standards. You could see the employees being concern about it. Another example of how the Madame Mallory expresses collectivistic culture is when she fires the employee that set fire to Hassan’s family’s restaurant. Hassan mother taught him how took almost every dish he knows how to do. She also influence him on trying new things. Since then, that’s what he has always done, he has made new recipes and improve old ones by adding a couple of spices that his family uses. Also that’s why when he goes to work at Madame Mallory’s restaurant he decides to change a recipe that is really old. Madame Mallory has always used the same French recipes and that’s why she is surprise when he changes the recipe, but since she tries it and likes it, she goes with it.
