Activision Blizzard Research Paper

From my experience during the stock market game I found out that the market is very random and could take the wrong turn at any moment. There will be days where the market will just crash on you or it could go the other way around and you could accumulate a ton of profit. At the beginning of the game I didn’t know what to do so I just bought random stocks that the website suggested to me. I got my friend, who was already familiar with the stock concept because he was in Mr. Barton’s Finance class to teach me what and how the stock market worked. So because I felt confident with the information I was taught so I bought over a hundred shares of Activision Blizzard. The reason for this was because Black Ops 3 was coming out. I thought that …show more content…
After this incident I focused on stocks such as Target, Best Buy, and Amazon, due to Black Friday being around the corner I thought I should focus on retail stores that highly advertise their Black Friday sales. Black Friday brought back all the money that I lost from Activision. Of course I became greedy and kept the stock instead of selling them and when Black Friday ended the stock started to drop and I was back to where I was. I did the same thing during the Christmas sales where I would buy some retail store stock only to forget selling them afterwards. There was only two stocks that mainly focused on and they were Amazon and Chipotle. For Chipotle I shorted it due it losing its money value from the E Coli outbreak that happened making it from a six hundred dollar stock to a four hundred dollar stock. This was probably my biggest money maker throughout the whole game. The other stock was Amazon, which had an amazing year during the later half of 2015 blowing up from a $640 stock to a $700 stock. After 2016 started though Amazon began to have a loss in its earnings. One of the reason was due to the fact that drones, which Amazon had planned to use as a new delivery system, could lead to a danger with other manned planes and it also seemed like

Throughout the month the top 3 stocks I had traded were STRT, YELP and UA. Although UA stumbled through the middle, it rebounded and created a nice profit. STRT is a security company, a riskier stock I found in the first week of trading and continued to trend upward the entire month. Yelp I found in part of researching for a more balanced portfolio, which returned my second best profit. Between these three stocks a profit of $345 was created.…

Payday: Life Lessons After playing Payday for two consecutive days, I have realized that like Monopoly, there is more to learn than one might think. For example, sometimes you have to take out a loan to buy a business in the hopes of making a profit, but be aware of the ten percent interest that comes with the loan. And if the business flops and you lose money, you still have to pay back that loan and the interest that goes along with it. I also learned from a personal lesson, that when you’re nearing the end of your life, (the end of the game) buying another business may not be a wise option. Although there might be a chance for you to make your money back, it is not guaranteed by any means, as I learned with…

Stocks are seen as the easiest type of security to understand and follow. At first, I was exposed to the stocks with betas at or near 1, meaning they were mostly part of the indexes that made up the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. With these safer choices, I quickly raised my rankings from 13 to the top 5 for several days. Once I attempted to spread my portfolio to less known stocks, my portfolio decreased in value leading to weeks of low rankings among the class. The next couple of weeks of class led to a greater knowledge in the derivatives markets such as options and futures.…
