Actors and actresses entertain millions but do they really deserve millions? With the average American watching five hours of television per day (Hinkley, 2014) it 's no surprise that actors and actresses entertain millions through the art of acting. Now think about all those actors and actresses and how much money they make. It 's no secret that actors who make it to the big leagues get paid very well for there time and effort, for example Robert Downy JR. made a whopping 60 million in 2015 alone (Smith, 2015). On the other side of the spectrum actors who don 't make it big will usually be stuck going from audition to audition and usually end up making 60,000 a year. In which actors are the player and and the entertainment industry is the game. Actors do not get to make up how much they 're paid they either negotiate their pay or get handed it. Just like any other job, a working professional can 't just walk up to there boss and demand they get paid a certain amount. Putting a maximum wage on anyone is unethical. In addition to this many actors and actresses take some of their money to help people and charities. Angelina jolie for example spent millions of her income traveling to different countries to help poor and homeless people. Also the reason actors get paid so much is because all of the people who watch their films, whether it 's netflix, movies, or television you are constantly giving them promo which tells the production agency that people like what they 're creating, so they are going to do anything to keep the actors happy so the production will last as longer with fewer problems. It also takes many actors a long time to crawl up the imaginary ladder. Most people who pursue their dream of acting usually fail. Finally actors careers have a much shorter lifespan than most. Once an actor hits a certain age it 's much harder for them to find acting jobs. The entertainment industry has a certain image that most actors need to uphold, they need to be young, skinny, and good looking.
