Examples Of Deceptive Act In Macbeth

Hidden or obvious realities cause reactions in the play. One of the things we can talk about is deceptive acts. We see that a lot in characters decisions which makes them kaleidoscopical. Also we have mysterious characters. If we want to understand these characters, we must figure out the mystery that they left behind them. The other thing is sentences in the play. Especially, words of witches are most effective. Of course, there are other important lines that belong to other characters in the play. The last thing is imagination of characters. All of these, deceptive acts, mysterious characters, language and imagination of characters are all shows itself in various ways and shapes the play.

As I told before witches are example for this. “All Witches: Fair is foul, and foul is fair” (I, i). Shakespeare sets up all important themes arround this quote. Actually it doesn’t give us plot of novel but it is really important to understand this quote for understanding the themes of Macbeth. Also, Duncan has some lines such as “Duncan: There's no art. To find the mind's construction in the face” (I, iv). Here, Duncan says that he is after thane of Cawdor who unhanged for his treachery. Also this quote from Duncan does not effects the plot but it’s react foreshadows in the play. Moreover this quote explains Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and all deceptive characters in the play. “Duncan: What he hath lost noble Macbeth hath won.” (I, i). At the begining of the play we find out interesting thing with this quote. This quote also about thane of Cawdor. When Macbeth inherits the title of thane, he also inherits the same treachery behaviour of the old thane of Cawdor. That is an intresting irony.
