Acquiring My First Job As A Ride Operator At Sesame Place

Decent Essays
Throughout my 16 years of life there have been many events that have changed me as a person, yet there are two major events that have immensely molded me into the person I am and has given me an idea of who I strive to be in the future. One of the immense events in my life is acquiring my first job, a ride operator at Sesame Place, and performing it is a recent major event in my life and it is one that has definitely had a major impact. Acquiring the job has shown me that one must put themselves out there and sell themselves to people to get something one desires. Once again this is one thing I am uncomfortable doing as I have never seen myself as a leader or someone who could speak to people I do not know. Overall, the process of acquiring my first job and performing my job has shaped me into a more confident and talkative person, and has made me see how putting one’s self out there can get them what they want. Although this was the most recent major event in my life, another major event in my past has affected my life in a more impactful way. The event would be the death of my mother from cancer on January 29th, 2009 when I was only nine years old. Before her passing, I was always with my mother no matter what. To me, my mother was the greatest person in the world. However, after her passing I started to realize how much I took for

My heart is beating quickly, my mouth is dry, and as I look at the familiar faces in front of me, their judging eyes make them seem like strangers. I struggle to get them to quiet down and we begin our hour long sectional, which I have to lead. It was the first day of my third year in marching band and at the end of last year, with the graduation of the previous section leader, I was granted his important position. Being a competitive person, I was extremely self conscience of how my section made me look. I hated being blamed for their errors and was exceedingly harsh towards them during sectionals.…

Strictly speaking, I never really be a leader. I personally didn’t have many opportunities or the desire to be a leader. This is about my personality, but I do want to push myself a little and have some experiences before I start my career. The closest title that I ever had as a leader was the Vice President of service for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) in my previous college. When I was offered the opportunity, I knew I had to take the responsibility because I thought that could be my first time being a leader.…

As I walked into the small building, that in fact looked very enormous at the time, I began to anticipate every answer I would give to the person who interviewed me, so that to them, I would at least seem prepared. Although I had practiced my interviewing skills that very morning, I felt anxious and worried. Not knowing what to expect, many different scenarios ran through my mind, all of which weren't making my situation any better. Questions after questions were asked, all which seemed impossible for me to answer, and I felt as though I blew the whole thing. After the interview, many days passed by, and I had convinced myself that I did not get job.…
