I became a member of fifteen youth group praise singers in Chodae Community Church. I wanted to be a drummer or a guitarist for the band, so I talked with my roommate who was in charge of the group. He said the band didn’t need a drummer or guitarist, but needed a singer. So I tried out for the band as a singer and they accepted me.

In that group we have six boys and nine girls and have two teachers. We have one drummer who is a girl , two acoustic guitar players who are men, two piano players--one student and one teacher, one Electric guitarist who is a boy ,one bass player who is a boy , and lastly nine singers. We have two sopranos, two altos, three tenors, and two basses. The singers are made up of two boys

The Fisk Jubilee Singers, a group of African American singers was established in 1871 at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. It is one of the earliest and most famous black vocal groups, known for the performance of slave spirituals. Originally known as the Fisk Free Colored School, Fisk University was established in 1865 to educate former slaves with the support from donations of former abolitionists. By 1871, however, Fisk was severely in debt. To save the school, George L. White, Fisk treasurer and music professor then, formed a nine- music choral ensemble of young men and women fresh from slavery and took it on tour to earn money to save their fledgling school.…

I am going to discuss Singer’s thesis in his article “The Singer Solution to World Poverty.” His thesis is as follows: • If you don’t donate to organizations like UNICEF and Oxfam America, you’re acting just as badly as Bob. The reason why Singer believe this is because Bob’s situation resembles that of people able but unwilling to donate to overseas aid organizations like UNICEF and Oxfam America. Singer paraphrases one of philosopher Peter Unger’s book, Living High and Letting Die example in his argument.…

The question, to what extent of responsibility each human has, on this planet, to help those less fortunate, is not easily answered. Its important to consider that each individual in the world has different morals. We were taught various values that make us who we are today. Therefore, to lump all humans together as having an equal responsibility to assist those in need, is not feasibly possible. No matter how we feel, some people will always give more than they are accountable, and others will not give at all.…

Peter Singer’s Sep. 05, 1999 article “The Singer Solution To World Poverty” is about a moral judgment to save people lives. Singer’s believes that if we all cooperate to donate money for a non-profit organization like Unicef or Oxfam America would help and save the lives of kids. Because of our ignorance so many kids are dying from easily treatable illnesses but if we cut our luxury expense and donate that money for those organizations, we can save someone’s life. Singer also explains that some people do not have a moral judgment to save other people life. For instance,” when Bob out for a drive his Bugatti, he parks his car on the area that railway close to him and as he walks away he notice that little kid stand on the same direction where…

When thinking about failure, what comes through ones mind? Not happiness, that is for sure! Failure is a part of life that is inspirational for the fact that it makes the person better than he or she was yesterday. When given the opportunity to apply for the marching band at my high school I was amused to the fact that I could possibly accomplish my goal of being a flute player.…

At the end of sixth grade, the junior high band came to my elementary school and performed for us. I watched in awe as students, not that much older than me, played music with their instruments. The flute players in the front row especially caught my attention; they were right next to the band directors and held their instruments up to the side, rather than down in front of them like the others. The flute had a high pitched melody and a bright silver color that appealed to me. That day, I signed up for the beginner band on the Coppinville Junior High registration sheet.…

Many would agree that murder is the most morally atrocious and impermissible thing that an autonomous being can commit. As well, many would agree that there is a certain moral obligation that everyone should have to their fellow man, and hence feel some obligation to help prevent the suffering of a fellow man if the opportunity presents itself. However, how far does that obligation stretch? Does it go beyond the bounds of only being morally responsible for the circumstances that you can see in front of you? Or are people in a way just as much responsible for all the suffering throughout the world that we have the capability to help prevent; such as the suffering of the global poor.…

I look down and see my mother smiling proudly at me, and I am taken back to where it all began. Rumour has it that I have been singing since the day I was born. In truth, my first experience with vocal music came at the age of two. I had listened to a song on TV, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with it, singing it over and over. My parents knew from that day that I had musical potential, and they encouraged me…

I joined my first choir in seventh grade. It was the school’s seventh grade choir and it had about a hundred kids in it. I enjoyed being there so much that the thought of the arts just stuck. Since then I have been in four choirs (all school funded) and two musicals. Though I know I do not have the most experience and my abilities are still shaky, music continues to be a big part of my life.…

Ever since I can remember I have been preoccupied with music. As a child I remember obsessing over my dad's CD collection and spending lengthy afternoons just listening to them with him. My home was never silent there was always music playing in the living room, the sounds of drums being banged on or guitar amps booming from the basement. If you ask my mother she might tell you this was bothersome but if you ask me it was perfect.…

In this paper I will reconstruct Singer’s argument as well as argue why his argument is unsound. In Singer’s paper, Famine, Affluence and Morality, he argues that any kind of suffering from lack of food, healthcare and shelter is a bad thing. He further argues that if we have the ability to prevent something bad from happening, that it is our duty as moral beings to prevent suffering unless we have to sacrifice something of significant moral importance. In class we called it the prevent suffering principle. An example that Singer gives is of the prevent suffering principle is to imagine a young child drowning in a shallow pond.…

The poem “The Song Love of J. Alfred Prufrock” is written by T.S. Eliot in 1939. During this time period, the “late Victorian culture forbade the public expression of feeling” (McNamara 359). Eliot defies such principles and writes poems that contribute to the new era of poetry, the Modern Era. Eliot utilizes every aspect of the poem to exploit the hypocrisy of the people during the Victorian Era. Eliot develops this poem to expose the frustrations of the modern individual and the hypocrisies of the Victorian Era.…
