Acne is a skin disorder that can cause mainly pimples and other blemishes. Pimples form when the hair follicle under the skin clogs up the pores. Acne can appear in the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. This skin disorder can happen to anyone but it is mainly common in teenagers and young adults. A cause for acne is that a pore in our skin gets clogged up. The clog in the pore begins with dead skin cells. Normally, the dead skin cells will go up to the surface of the pore and the body will excrete the dead cells. But, when the body starts to make a lot of sebum, which is the oil that keeps the skin from drying out, the dead skin cells get stuck together in the pore. Another cause that experts think that experts think that causes acne mostly in teenagers is androgen. Androgen is a type of hormone that rises in levels which make the sebaceous glands produce oil. A said earlier excessive amount of sebum (oil) can break down the cellular walls in the skin pores which can cause bacteria to grow. …show more content…
Some signs of acne can be blemishes such as blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pimples, cysts, and nodules. Acne can cause way more than just blemishes or red bumps in the skin it can cause some symptoms not dealing directly to the skin. Some symptoms are that acne can cause low self-esteem, depression, dark spots on the skin and scars and sometimes permanent scars. It’s understandable why people with this skin disorder cause low self-esteem and depression.
