First of all, I would like to thank my parents for giving me the chance to enroll in this class. I would like to thank them for the financial and supportive help in terms of my education. The questionnaire consists questions regarding relationships and children. I distribute them to the class and my roommates. It was not that surprising that the results were evenly distributed among the answers as people have different experiences that shape on how they think about relationships. Most of us in class are not married yet so the topic of children is still not that inclined in their lives.
In the topic of birth and children, I asked my parents, my parent’s friend, and my friend’s parents. Most of them are in their 40’s or 50’s now. They prefer to have two children as it is the perfect family image. Three children are sometimes hard for those in the middle class family as it is financially an extra head to feed. My grandparents had eleven siblings and it was hard to eat.
For the people getting married, they have ideas of having children. People who lived in Singapore, China, and Korea wants a child but no more than one as it is hard for them to take care with their busy lives. Couples are encouraged to have children but most of them decline and focus on their careers. Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy believed that intelligence is not fixed rather build up. It is not our blood, but we can make them like us. They would have a bigger appreciation towards us as they feel that someone is willing to take care of them and provide them in their lives.
