The ceramic and the poem were both created by ancient Greek artists, even though two hundred and thirty years apart. They also illustrate the importance of the roles that these two soldiers play (according to the Iliad, Ajax and Achilles were their best Greek soldiers and the ceramic also illustrates the importance of these two characters). Achilles was the representation of the winner and Ajax the loser, which is also similar of what the Iliad said, because between the two of them, Achilles was the best soldier. The armor, helmets, tunics, shields and the weapons they had also show the similarities between the ceramic and the poem, Ajax and Achilles’ personalities and their passion for a battle and/or competition also shows how similar both pieces of art are, they both represent the intensity of a battle and to find out who would be victorious. The Iliad also has a modern influence such as the release of the movie Troy starred by Brad Pitt, Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom in 2004. The film “Troy” has a very wide
