I: Hero description and traits of each
Beowulf is: Selfish, unforgiving, accepts his fate, hot tempered, Offended by laws of man
Achilles is: Selfless, fights his fate, willing to sacrifice many to win, even tempered
II: Two specific traits
Some of the ways they are similar: Brave, Cunning in Battle, Strong, heroic, both larger than man like a giant. I am going to discuss their Strength and also how they were both good warriors who were cunning in battle.
STRENGTH:
Both Achilles and Beowulf were strong. Their strength was like that of a superhuman. We see this in the epic Beowulf where he is able to rip off Grendel’s arm who is a gigantic monster (lines 607-914). I also saw this in the epic Achilles. In both stores, they were half man and half gods so this along shows us they had unbeatable strength. …show more content…
For example, they both slaughtered all of the enemies that came in front of them. They also both did things like take trophies when they won wars so that people feared them, like hanging an enemy’s body up for display.
III: One way they are different
One major way they were different is their claim to fame or rather not. Beowulf is very selfish, seeking fame all of the time. In contrast, Achilles is famous, he is from birth the Prince of Pythia. However, despite his title he is very selfless when it comes to seeking the glory.
