Achieving The American Dream: A Narrative Analysis

The purpose of the connectors was to demonstrate that the first part to achieving the American Dream is to start looking for new opportunities. A missed opportunity can be the difference of starting your American Dream or looking for another brand new opportunity. The next part shows that once you have a big goal in mind, you have to work hard to achieve that big goal. Without the determination and the concentration setting your plan in motion wouldn’t go well. Finally, the last part is to enjoy what you have achieved, and be proud of yourself for whatever you have worked hard for. The steps to achieving the American Dream is to first know what your actual American Dream is, find an opportunity, work hard for it, and then cherish your success from it. As repeatedly said throughout all of my pieces, and especially this piece, no matter where you start, you can always end up on the top, passing through all those struggles that you face on the way to achieving your American Dream and becoming successful. When I saw the title of the article containing “Asian American women” and “white men”, I knew that there would be something about racial bias, and how people are still keeping up with everyone else even though they have disadvantages, and that’s what basically inspired me to write this piece. I chose the genre of writing a newspaper article because I thought that since my article/evidence that I selected had a lot of factual information, I thought that the newspaper article would get my message through in the most possible efficient and formal way possible.
