Accountability and liability has become an issue in the healthcare industry (Emanuel & Emanuel, 1996). Accountability is referring to someone that is responsible for a set of actions or activities that occurred and must respond with an explanation or answer of their behavior. Also, being accountable entails establishing or correction of an individual party that gives reasons and is viewed as an accountable to someone for their actions by another party that has some part or interest of those actions. Clinician’s decision-making should foremost consider doing the right thing and avoid harm to the patients as they can potentially risk losing their licenses. Also, the staff should treat the occupancy a member of their family.
