Due to the information gaps, Accord are unable to monitor and control inventory traveling along the supply chain. This will result in inaccurate forecasting as well as longer cycle time. In order to solve this issue, Accord seeks to improve their current supply chain coordination through closer working relationship between their upstream and downstream.
Accord supplies has always promise to deliver on time and in full to their customers. However, instead of timely delivery being made, customers are facing constant stock-out and lengthy deliveries.
Accord’s suppliers on the other hand are unable to fulfill the sudden large demand. Accord supplies do not order large quantity in advance instead they only do so when they received such big orders from their customers.
Currently Accord still relies on manual stock counting to keep track of its inventory. Due to the large inventory available, human errors is the main contributing factor to inaccurate inventory. Also the current operating system …show more content…
The root cause of the problem was identified to be the current operating system Accord Supplies are using. The capabilities and capacity of the current operation system used by Accord Supplies is no longer able to support their current demands. As the current system was developed during the initial setup to meet the basic requirements for Accord Supplies’ warehouse and inventory management, the current system is outdated with no new addon features to address the future
