I then told my supervisor” no not yet” but on the way to Surgicare over on Hillside I told my boss to go ahead and call my wife to let her know where we were headed. So at that time my boss called my wife and let her know that I was involved in an accident at work, and we were headed to Surgicare on Hillside and she met us there just before I went in for surgery on my right middle finger.
They called it an amputation revision of the right middle finger, all in all I would much rather have my finger back. After getting out of Surgicare they gave me some pain medication for my finger, and sent me home. The next day I was back at work on pain medication, so they had me sit in a chair all day doing nothing. Just the thought of getting my finger smashed still makes me want to cringe. I do not think I could watch my daughter get hurt the way I did.
There are three things I learned from this accident: 1.) Rick is dangerous. 2.) Pain is a great teacher. 3) Sometimes it is real hard to find funny part to laugh at. The way this accident has changed me is that with the loss of the end of my finger the sense of touch for that finger has changed. I mean that when I am looking for something, and I cannot use my eyes, I have to rely on my sense of touch which is now incomplete, and it has been that way since the
