The UK government has a publicly funded employment support programme called Access to Work that aims to help and support more disabled and disadvantaged people to access training, to start or stay in work. It can provide practical and financial support for people who have a disabilities or long term physical or mental health condition. Support can be provided where someone needs help or adaptations beyond reasonable adjustments within the workplace.
An access to work grant can support a varied range of individuals and supports the employers in keeping down financial costs. Some of the areas that this can support is with:
• Special aids and equipment to support the individual in the workplace
• Adaptations to equipment that allow the individual
