According to Dr.Hare Psychopaths display “use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain”. This ability to manipulate other people can become easier over time for a psychopath. In James Fallon’s experiences, “The pranks and manipulations and party mayhem got riskier and would involve tens and hundreds of others as I got older”. Tens and hundreds could turn into thousands and escalate even further. If one person could manipulate that many people, people could see them as a great leader. The scariest part in this situation would be that psychopaths are only out for their own gain, and because they lack empathy they don’t see the problem in it. So having a psychopath as a leader of a country could potentially be devastating to the whole world. Some people have the ability to see through this facade, and other people eventually see through it, but when it is too late. It is too late for Detective Ryan in the case of Rosalind Devlin.
