Acceptance In Everyday, A And Rhiannon By David Levithan

Acceptance is apart of life that is used during good and bad times. One has the option of accepting the good or bad and then moving on or refusing to accept it and living a life full of what ifs and resentment toward themselves and other people. In the book, Everyday, A is a spirit that changes bodies everyday and is never the same person twice. A falls in love with a girl name Rhiannon. Eventually, A and Rhiannon have to face the tough fact that they can not be together, even though they want to be. Through the book, David Levithan teaches readers one has to accept things they can not change or else they will lose themselves in the process. He wants to have a normal life and wake up in the same body everyday. A knows that Rhiannon has a problem with his situation and wishes that he could be a normal person so they could be together. A says, “But how can I make her look past the blue, if I’m in a body she’ll never see, in a life she’ll never be able to hold” (256). A realizes that Rhiannon will never be able to build a real life with him. They both have to accept this in order to eventually move on. A knows that if they stay together Rhiannon will never fully accept him and her life will change immensely. A can’t change who he is, so they both have to accept this and the fact that the life they want together will not be the life they end up
