Accelerando and the Internet
Accelerando by Charles Stross, a compendium of short stories that looks at the concept for the ever expanding world of our internet, with the overlapping of future tech and its possibilities. Accelerando is about the internet because the people abandon the physical world for a digital one and the measurements of time are no longer connected to the natural world around us. The technology from the internet causes a complete change in the lives of the humans. Because humans leave the physical world there is no need to focus attention to our bodies, such as finding food, medicine, or dying.

The strongest aspects that humans have is our minds, it is the only thing that differentiates us from animals. By having the ability to enhance the natural power of the brain and eliminating the human body, humans can then live without certain limitations that our body has. “Uploading one’s mind into the computer as a way to become immortal. The computer subsequently downloads the mind into cloned bodies at appropriate times, thus providing each sentience with a succession of lives (and the collected memory of each)” (Geraci 146). By having the ability to upload the human mind, people can then live their lives again and again and collect the series of experiences together.
