Prezi Team 2 Reflection

Improved Essays
Introduction
This is a reflection of Team 2’s, team work and creation of a Prezi that gives a valid outline on the subject of learning styles and my personal input into the teamwork and the presentation. This reflection addresses elements of teamwork and how these elements operated in Team 2. I also address the strategies I would use in future team work situations.

Team Rating
Team 2 has created a presentation using Prezi that has validity on the subject of learning styles and provided a user friendly platform for presenting the topic. I would give our final Prezi project and our team work a 7 out of ten. I believe that the factors that contributed to our level of success and how effectively we worked as a team was our team attitude, team

Although our team had particular roles that were shared that everyone contributed to, team worker, innovator, completer and implementer.
I personally contributed as a team worker through encouraging other team members, was involved in regular communication and displayed a cooperative attitude (Davies & Kanaki, 2006). Notably, emailing students that had not joined the team, also providing regular team encouragement and commiserating for example “Nothing further to add at the moment just wanted to say GO TEAM” and “Glad its [sic] not only me (having trouble)” (Nester, 2015).
My involvement as an innovator consisted of contributing new ideas to team 2 (Hartley, 2012). An instance of this involvement was contributing the idea of voting on our team’s topic to make the decision easier and to avoid debate (Nester, 2015).
As a contributor to the completer role I assisted with editing contributions and refining references to develop the consistency of our final work (Carson & Isaac, 2005). I used editing software and knowledge to give feedback such as ‘You will need an in-text citation for this info… possibly (Timmy, 2015) for the author or (Education environments, 2015)’ (Nester,

In the future I would initiate the assigning roles much earlier in the process. I felt it was not all that important in the beginning of our collaboration, but as we got further into our work I found it was vital for successful teamwork that we all had personal roles and objectives. I would also suggest a platform or assigned time for feedback on a regular basis. I found that problems or issues were not expressed until later in talks and then it was harder to resolve. My system would be to implement a weekly or daily roundup of feedback (depending on the project timeframe) to resolve this issue (Albert & Fetzer, 2005). My final strategy for my future team work specifically online, would be to form strong bonds with team members. In the team creation I would suggest, for example to share a story or a piece of information about your personal self to form stronger bonds to the team. This will create an awareness of others and a sense of community which will influence increased input to the team (Wellman,

Rube Goldberg and Beyond As a High School Physics student in my Junior year, I was placed on a team and asked to build a Rube Goldberg machine. I had seen several YouTube videos on these ball rolling, random ramps, fast moving machines…but were we able to build our own construction marvel for extra credit? His vision of taking everyday household items and making them into crazy inventions that helped solve simple problems like ringing a bell, opening a door or moving an object, inspired me that I could create a Rube Goldberg machine.…

Reflection Paper II Throughout my college experience here in the Carroll School of Management, group work and the ability to work well with others has been emphasized greatly. This makes sense, because in a professional environment, the ability to communicate, listen and contribute within a group leads to success and the achievement of goals. However, none have gone on as long as this project, making it a more realistic example of working on a team. Junior year of college is definitely a crazy time, as we are forced to balance heavy workloads with extracurriculars and recruiting.…
