Patients in this age cohort should also be screened for immunization deficits during the annual visit, and the patients should be screened for depression, domestic violence, and for the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use during the annual visit. A general skin exam should be performed for all patients to assess for skin malignancy. Due to the patient’s age and lack of risk factors, she does not need the following screenings: sexually transmitted disease screenings, colorectal cancer screening, breast cancer screening with mammography, and osteoporosis screening with a bone mineral density test. From these screening recommendations, she does not need another pap smear for another 2 years.
