Academic Operation System Analysis

Eric Jenson states: “the better students’ academic operating systems are, the better they will be able to handle the challenges of school.” In today’s society the academic operation system often does not exist in children who live in poverty. As he states, teachers have to make the best of the 1000 hours they are interacting with the children, by supporting the whole child. The school should take an active role in identifying the students’ needs by getting hard data, being accountable for identifying their needs, collaborating and building relationships and finally enriching to strengthen their academic operation system.

I first went through the poverty simulation during my first semester at Baylor with my Poverty in Developing Countries class taught by Janet Dorrell.
