I am becoming more confident and less nervous about getting up in front of a class of students. I know that it will be a different experience when the audience is middle or high school students who have not already learned or been exposed to the material I am teaching. Each presentation I prepare for in this class requires me to think about my future students and how I should plan to teach them a topic. I believe I am thinking more like an educator by the experiences in this class.
Another factor that has influenced my positive reaction to Methods and Materials for Academic Literacy is getting feedback from the other future teachers and my professor. I can reflect on the reactions and questions asked by them to improve my teaching. It has stuck with me that teaching is Iike giving a speech as Mr. Wonder has pointed out.
