Life is full of battles. If one does not have the right armor, one will be defeated by “self,” which is the biggest enemy of all, and I was a victim of it. My heart often told me that I have no purpose in life. From middle school to high school, I was a timid and self-reliant individual. As a result, I identified myself with this mentality and carry on forward during my first college career. Just as when speaking English was my first battle when I come to the United States, it was a long time for me to find and put the right armor to won my second battle, which is my academic challenges.

As an individual who often use technology applications for the academic and personal purpose, I admire how these technologies are running behind the scene. Moreover, I observed that, in this present generation, there is a high demand for computer scientists due to the advancement of technologies. Finally, getting a degree in computer science will open opportunities for me to work in many disciplines that demand computer scientists. I can also bring my point of view as someone with physical disability to enhance the experience of other physically disabled people.
My last college career has proven that I had overcome my academic challenges and won the second battle of my life. Therefore, I am prepared to enter my intended major at this time. I am prepared to enter the next battle.
My academic goal has always been to have high grades in all of my classes to pursue a study and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in computer science so that I will be able to work, that is equal to my degree. My academic challenges had been maintaining high grades in several of my classes because, due to my physical disability, I was too overwhelmed by the number of course works that must be done. This became more challenging when I entered college with my old high school character, which that I was timid for sharing and self-reliant for seeking help to the people that knows me best in regards to my academic challenges. As a consequence, it indeed took a long time for me to rise up from my academic challenges. However, despite my adversities, I wish to attend a four-year University, since it is my desire to get a Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
