I am writing to appeal my academic dismissal from Philander Smith College. Maintaining school and my personal life started to become a challenge in the fall of 2016. My grades were not due to low ability or to much partying like you might imagine. Instead, my grades suffered because of my Uncle’s death that occurred on September 8th of 2016. I had been getting updates from the beginning of August up until he passed. Around 4:30pm while in Dr.Colemans College Math Class, I got the phone call that he had passed away due to Kidney Failure.
