Throughout high school I was deeply involved in the arts. I took part in all the musicals the school put on, participated in my high school’s top choir, and successfully auditioned for ILMEA, making District both Junior and Senior year and also receiving Division on for my solos I performed at Solo and Ensemble. At Illinois State, I will be pursuing my majors in Music Education and Musical Theatre. I plan to teach children to appreciate the fundamental aspects of music and to instill a passion in their hearts for the Arts. I aspire to use my experience to help students of all ages become responsible and productive individuals, effective decision-makers, and life-long learners through active learning and participation in a music class. Some of those strengths include, adapting well to new changes. I have attended two different buildings and adapted to three different class schedules --. Another strength I discovered is the passion to serve as a support to teachers and students around me. These attributes have enhanced my high school career. However, one of my weaknesses is that it takes me a good amount of time to figure things out --and organize my schedule. In my junior and senior years, I greatly improved upon this weakness due to my schedule expanding with extra curricular activities. Despite my weaknesses, I still accomplished many great things.
