My academic and career goals focus on three objectives: continued civilian service to the nation, enrichment of the scientific community, and advancement of student understanding. My experiences with the military exposed me to combat arms, support, and logistics specialties that provided several valuable lessons. I learned how to operate as a member or leader of a team, how to prioritize and organize tasks, and how to effectively communicate to diverse audiences. By attending Ohio State for my chemical engineering degree, I intend to gain deeper understanding of engineering and scientific fundamentals in order to effectively serve my community as a chemical company employee, as a government consultant, or as a faculty member at a local high
