Hearing the statistics about the amounts of violence and abuse that occurs during high school did not shock me at all. As teenagers are beginning to do more adult-like behaviors at earlier ages, their attitudes and behaviors towards violence and abuse are developing and being implemented earlier. I believe that enacting in these behaviors earlier creates a problem for the future because it can cause many other problems such as death, imprisonment, and mental health problems. Listening to this lecture reminded me of an episode of Dr. Phil where there was a teenage girl present on the show that had an interesting view on abusive relationships. She felt that it was okay for her boyfriend to hit her and that her followers and friends should allow
